What Are Crusher Blow Bars?
Crusher blow bars, also known as impact blow bars, are critical wear parts used in horizontal shaft impact crushers (HSI). They are mounted on the rotor and are responsible for delivering the initial impact force that fractures feed material against the impact wall.
As material enters the crushing chamber, it is accelerated by the rotor and struck by the blow bars, causing it to break into smaller, uniform particles. Because blow bars directly absorb high-impact and abrasive forces, timely replacement is essential to maintain crushing efficiency and to prevent damage to other key crusher components.
Working Principle of Impact Crusher Blow Bars
Blow bars are installed on the rotor, typically in sets of three or four pieces, depending on crusher design. When the rotor spins at high speed:
-
Feed material enters the crusher chamber
-
Blow bars strike and accelerate the material
-
Material impacts the breaker plates and fractures
-
Crushed material exits through the discharge opening
Blow bars are manufactured from high-resistance, wear-resistant alloys, and their metallurgy can be customized based on feed size, abrasiveness, and operating conditions.
At HIGHCR Casting, every blow bar is engineered to precisely match your crusher’s profile, ensuring optimal fit, balance, and performance.
